Code of Conduct & Code of Ethics for Members of the Association of Abroad Education Consultant Haryana
As members of the AAEC Haryana, we pledge to uphold the following standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in all our interactions with students, educational institutions, colleagues, and other stakeholders:
- Integrity and Honesty
- Provide accurate, honest, and transparent information to students regarding educational opportunities, courses, fees, scholarships, and visa procedures.
- Ensure all advertising, marketing, and promotional materials reflect truthfulness and are not misleading.
- Refrain from making false claims about institutional affiliations or program outcomes.
- Student-Centred Approach
- Act in the best interests of students, prioritizing their educational goals, welfare, and long-term success.
- Offer impartial advice based on the student’s academic background, preferences, and career goals.
- Respect the student’s right to privacy and confidentiality, ensuring personal data is protected and only shared with relevant authorities.
- Fair Practices
- Avoid conflicts of interest and refrain from engaging in unethical practices such as charging hidden fees, accepting bribes, or engaging in fraudulent activity.
- Provide a clear, written contract or agreement with details on services provided, costs, and timelines.
- Refrain from guaranteeing admission, visas, or scholarships unless supported by official documentation from educational institutions or governing bodies.
- Refrain from enticing employees from other members of AAEC. NOC from the previous employer shall be required if the employee has fulfilled their contractual obligations with their former employer, regardless of their position or status.
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations
- Abide by all local, national, and international laws, including immigration regulations, educational standards, and anti-discrimination laws.
- Ensure all applications, documents, and submissions made on behalf of students are genuine, accurate, and free from manipulation or fraud.
- Professional Development and Competence
- Stay informed about changes in visa policies, educational systems, and admission procedures to provide up-to-date and accurate advice.
- Participate in regular training and development programs to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Refrain from providing advice or services outside of one’s area of expertise.
- Non-Discrimination
- Treat all students equally and fairly, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or socio-economic background.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment where all individuals feel respected and valued.
- Collaboration with Educational Institutions
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with educational institutions, ensuring transparency in dealings and refraining from exploiting these relationships for personal gain.
- Represent institutions accurately and honestly, respecting their terms and conditions in all promotional activities.
- Confidentiality
- Safeguard the confidentiality of all information provided by students, educational institutions, and partners.
- Use personal data only for its intended purpose and in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Transparency in Financial Transactions
- Clearly explain all fees and charges related to services, including any third-party costs.
- Avoid hidden charges and ensure that students are fully aware of the financial commitment involved in their education abroad journey.
- Dispute Resolution
- Address complaints or disputes from students or partners in a fair and timely manner.
- Participate in mediation or dispute resolution processes offered by the association if necessary.
- Compliance with the Association’s Rules
- Adhere to the guidelines, bylaws, constitution and standards set forth by the AAEC Haryana.
- Cooperate with the association in any investigations regarding unethical or unprofessional Ethics
- Accept disciplinary action if found in violation of the code of ethics.
12. Consequences of Non-Compliance
Members found violating the Code of Ethics may face sanctions including but not limited to:
- Written warnings
- Suspension or termination of membership
- Legal actions, where applicable
By adhering to this Code of Ethics, members contribute to maintaining the trust and integrity of the abroad education consulting profession.
